Sunday ~ July ~ 2012
11:30am - 5:00pm
Sundalah Sundays are an opportunity for our
community to come together to promote health, happiness and to make a
positive difference in people's lives.
Sundalah embraces the teachings of yoga because yoga is a wonderful way
for people to re-discover themselves and to create a healthy life with inner fulfillment.
The word Yoga comes from the sanskrit word "yuj" which means to merge,
join, or unite. The study of Yoga implies the union of the body, mind
and spirit to achieve a happy, balanced and purposeful life.
Sundalah Sundays bring to you a series of classes led by local teachers
to raise money for a local charity. These events take place in May and
July at The Townsville Seniors Centre - 16 Ryan St. Belgian Gardens,
Townsville Q.
Our third and final annual event takes place on International Peace Weekend and is called Global Mala.
~ Sundalah Sunday Market ~
Sundalah Sundays are also a small market of
lifestyle products and gifts which support self-study and healthy
living. A large selection of products at our market are locally made or
Fairtrade.
Buying Fairtrade gives you the opportunity to be a socially aware and
responsible consumer as you will make a real difference in people's
lives. Fairtrade ensures that those who worked to bring you the product
you have purchased were paid a fair return for their labour. This
enables such workers in under developed countries to afford life's
basic needs - food, shelter, health care & education.
Sundalah Sunday also offers you a menu of healthy home made afternoon tea selections. Bring your own mug and save $ and a tree!
"Thank you to all your helpers for a great afternoon ... With so much on offer it really pays to turn up at
noon to try and
experience a little bit of everything. I thoroughly enjoyed everything including the chai tea and date
slice - compliments to the workers in the kitchen! The partner yoga
basics was also interesting! Thankyou for your efforts and the
organising of so many interesting activities at a great venue." Mark & Paula
